Clearing Backlog Singapore Citizenship applications

Post by rockstar_sg » Thu, 08 Oct 2015 12:50 pm

I read in yahoo news sometime before that the ICA will be clearing backlog of Singapore SC applications as its especially pile up in recent months. Our's is a backlog as well. Waiting for SC application outcome 2 years and 4 months already. Wrote couple of emails to ICA and got all the replies saying its currently processed(since 4 months before). Met an ICA officer in person too and he told that they even have 3+ years pending applications so think my case. Wow!!

Any long pending SC applicants to share your status? how many years are you waiting? 1 year and less waiting applicants do not required to reply. You still got years to know your outcome. Seniors first. hehehehehehe.

You only have to see the uptick and then down tick to understand this. Anyways if you have PR why worry about rush to SC?
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.

If you base on the 2011 Election outcome, post election, there was en-masse rejection :D :D

Now how does that make you feel ? :D :D

It appears that 'Transitioning' don't understand the meaning of:
'Copyright © 2002 to 2015 SingaporeExpats.com Pte Ltd, All Rights Reserved.'

Perhaps someone might wish to remind them?

mmmm, as long as they have quoted the 'source' and also mentioned that they have 'edited' the original post, I guess they think it is fine !!

Maybe they do but it's not. To re-use copyright material without express permission of the author/host you can only quote small excerpts, where those excerpts are discussed within the context of a much longer piece, which you yourself have written (and have copyright of).

Lifting entire pieces (or multiple pieces as in posts/threads) from a copyright source totalling hundreds of words and simply editing out a handful of words 'for clarity' is still very much breach of copyright.

You wouldn't think a supposedly reputable charity would do this would you?

Nope. As far as I can tell It is not within the fair use / allowable use. Not quoting the source would be just an additional offence. But I don't think it's worth any action.

Try going against that mob, they will go "ah, foreigners bullying Singaporeans. Singaporeans Unite, vote for Opposition .. " :D

After all, that was GG's clarion call, during his election campaigning under RP

When I see the occasional local website criticising the presence of foreigners it can surprise me, as foreigners are only in SG at the invitation of the government. And by criticising the presence of the such foreigners, they are criticising the policy of the latter, i.e. the government - which seems an unusually bold thing to do, especially when they are a charity dependent upon a status granted by that said and same government.

Perhaps Transitioning don't see it how I do, that they might as well host outright anti-government sentiment and views. Either way, it sounds like rather a precarious platform they're seeking to maintain, biting the hand that feeds them. But hey, presumably they have lawyers on the team and know what they're doing....

Gosh!! you are literally diverted what was the initial discussion.

Regd the mass rejection? My Answer is "I DON'T CARE" . Either Reject or approve, do a thing first thats it lah. And for those usual, non-useful respondents in this site, my advise is Stay away. If you are not the one to whom I posted the query, better lock your hands instead of writing non-sense replies not related to my question and you are not my intended audience to whom I am asking my question. People will leave from this site when they see only stupid replies and not productive answers for most of the threads. What a waste !

Totally agreed , yes, what a waste.

Next time do everybody a big favor and identify which specific contributor (by name) must reply, per your DEMANDS, so others don't step in !!!

Have a nice day mate. You must be fun in other non-strictly-speaking forums.
