Citizenship application for PR family

Post by Leen12 » Thu, 24 Sep 2015 2:46 pm

Does anyone have any experience on applying for citizenship together as a family?

Are we required to submit seperate application forms for each member?

Does the husband have to aquire it first using economic scheme before sponsoring wife and children under family ties scheme?

From ICA's Web site in the Frequently Asked Questions section: "I wish to apply for Singapore citizenship for wife, children and myself. Why must I complete an application form for each person, as most of the information required has to be repeated? The application for Singapore citizenship is stipulated under different Article [sic] of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore. Hence, there is a need for each applicant to submit an application form individually."

As ICA's answer suggests, there is no requirement for one spouse to apply first. If everyone is eligible -- individually or at least collectively -- then all can present applications for citizenship at the same time. But each person needs his/her own paperwork.
