Training Employment Pass and Room Renting

Hello, I'm currently a senior college student and wishing to intern at a MNC in Singapore as part of my study programe.

But, training employment pass is valid for only 3 months and not renewable while I heard that room renting for less than 6 months is illegal.

What can I do to solve this problem? Since interning abroad may lift up my experience and Singapore is a perfect melting pot. Living for 3 months in hostel or hotel seems ridiculous and expensive for a mere student like me.
