Donald Trump has been criticised for failing to correct a supporter who said US President Barack Obama was a Muslim and "not even an American".

trump is ahead by 10% in the republican polls. i have no idea how competent to be a president he is (probably as little as the others). his great appeal is from the fact that he's breaking through the politically correctness of the usual presidency debates. he's kind of a "slim shady". people seem to like that (which i must admit i like to see - i hate "taboo" themes in these debates and i hate "automatic, generally acceptable" answers).

He surely is no statesman, but when a candidate leads by such a large margin, he is a serious candidate.

I think in many countries people are increasingly fed up with all this political correctness. With the economies or at least subjective level of living quality in decline products similar to DT find a good ground to flourish.

I like the concept of someone like him to shake things up and not be beholden to the typical special interests, but I hate most of his views.

He's anti-vaccine, which is one of the very few "single issue" items which convince me to oppose him even if I agreed with everything else he had to say.

Most probably.

If I understand things correctly, the most popular contender early on in a race with many candidates rarely carry that momentum to victory. I think people enjoy the circus act but then later on, "oh shit, do I really want this person to have the nuclear launch codes?!"

One where the poll leads are as dramatic as they are today.

Even if just looking at favourability numbers, JB is way behind Carson and Trump.
He is even behind Ms. Fiorina after the latest debate.

With the strong showing of Trump, Carson and now Fiorina a common theme here seems to be a rejection of the establishment. In this case, anything can happen.
