There are very limited jobs that are allowed to be acquired by a DP holder, example is sales assistant, which I don't think you would settle into as that doesn't tantamount to your qualifications. So my advice is to wait for your PR application results and once approved, try to apply for jobs. :)

Welcome.

Seems like your PR application is very much too soon. But you have already done it so I'll wish you all the best.

Regarding DP, any job is open as long as the employer is able to get Letter of Consent (LOC) approved by MOM for you. You need to educate them on this part though, because from the anecdotes in this forum, a lot of HR people are not aware that it exists. Be prepared that you may not get good salary as your DP and LOC is tied to your husband's EP expiry. His EP expires, your LOC expires as well. He gets terminated from his Singapore employment, you get terminated along.

For your role, perhaps try International Schools? Especially Indian International Schools like GIIS or such. You can call them up or drop them a visit.

Is relate salary and LOC approvement?

Post by myint » Fri, 18 Sep 2015 3:53 pm

Now I'm holding Dependent's pass and it's depends on my husband's EP.
A few weeks ago I had job offer from one of IT company as Admin and Account Assistant position.
And that time they applied the LOC for me, but now MOM was rejected of my LOC.
They said their company can't employ dependent's holder.
But one of the problem is last time I worked with my own spass.
That time it wasn't legal , most of the foreigner had to work lower salary than employee what they applied salary to MOM.
For example, I had worked with my previous company gave me S$1800 but they applied S$2550 for spass.
Now this IT company offered me S$2100 and they put in also at LOC letter S$2100.
Anybody can suggest, is it related with salary and LOC letter?

It would depend on whether or not MOM caught your former employer. If the did, and names were given up, you name would have been blacklisted as you did not report what was being done, therefore you are guilty of collusion as you and the company conspired to defraud MOM. Or, it's possible that you are not actually qualified for the position the new company is applying for. New rulings by MOM say applicants must have relevant qualifications for the position unlike LoC's in the past. We had another rejected on here recently as well.

It was illegal then, it is illegal now...

Most of the foreigner ? Really ?

No comments, but since nearly 20 years ago every MOM form had a warning for false declaration.

Only the "few" naive and desperate employees like you and few unscrupulous employers like your previous one broke the law and claimed it wasn't illegal.

And even 10 years ago MOM was going after employers falsely declaring salaries ... so I don't know when it became legal or when "most" foreigners were paid below the declared salary.

Be happy you haven't been deported yet.
