Work Holiday Pass - address required when applying?

Post by bear54 » Fri, 18 Sep 2015 4:44 am

I am applying for the WHP to hopefully find a job, however there is a section on the form (http://www.mom.gov.sg/~/media/mom/docum ... aypass.doc) where an address in Singapore is required. Does this mean accommodation has to be sorted before even applying? I am a bit wary of doing this as I would have accommodation booked even if the pass gets rejected for some reason.

Would using a website like airbnb be ok? I know there is a directory on this website but it seems more suited for longer term rentals, and fairly pricey (I probably won't stay the whole 6 months)

Another thing on the form, it has 'Country of birth' and 'Country of origin' (which has an address part) sections, by definition aren't they the same thing? My birth country is different to where I grew up so it isn't straightforward, but I'm assuming origin is the country I grew up in due to the home address.

Thanks for any replies!!
