Hi my friends,
I am a Pharmacist by profession, but unfortunately my degree is not recognized by Singapore Pharmacy licensing authority. I had been selected for Pharmacy Technician instead of Pharmacist by a well reputed company in Singapore. They are applying for work permit , but the MOL is not interested to issue a permit. Being as a Indian National , I am facing this difficulty because of my nationality or my degree?
How is possible to get employment pass or work permit from MOL ? anyone advise me please?
Some of my friends are advised me to visit Singapore on social visit pass, then I am getting more chance to get work permit, is it true?

It's likely because there is plenty of the locals who could do a Pharmacy Technician job or the company has the foreign worker quota already exceeded.
No, coming over will not improve your chances to have the pass approved.

More like because of your degree and also because Ministry of Manpower (MOM) wants to cut down on foreign professional labour.

If you are rejected because you are not recognised, it means you have no chance. Perhaps getting a new degree from approved institution might help you?

Even worse. Because you are playing a bigger gamble and taking huge risks with all the money you are spending but zero certainty.

Not exactly ...
Just like how Indian Pharmacy board refuses to allow foreigners to practice, Singapore is doing the same.
Add to it, I understand Singapore can pick and choose who they want as a pharmacist, and Indians rank at the bottom.
Myanmar and Filipinos are highly preferred.
But you can keep ttrying and remember the actual paperwork can take up to 6 months or more, if you get an offer. Something that your Reputed employer may have overlooked. That's my 2 cents.
Ps. X9200, there is a severe shortage of pharmacists, as most local successful ones see them flying to greener pastures with less stressful working environment ....

Re: I need advise to get employment pass
Hi friends, again I need to clarify certain important things , First of all Singapore pharmacy board does approved qualification only from 5 country in entire world, all from Europe, sadly no one Asian country in their list, including India, Philippine, Myanmar etc., Again Pharmacist are more demand list in Singapore, and pharmacy technician also in their demand list. Without pharmacy degree qualification no one is allowed to work in Singapore as Pharmacist or technician.
I had been interviewed last week by MNC in Singapore and have been selected to work as Technician in their pharmacy outlet because my experiences and master degree. They had sent me job offer and waiting for work permit. Sadly the company inform me today the MOM does not approved my paper and insist to take from Local peoples.
So again I am asking anyone here, what are the possibility to get work permit for me to work ? or if I am coming to Singapore under anyone of my relatives sponsor, there is any chances to get approval on my work permit?
Or any of your valuable thoughts ??

Don't bother wasting money to come over. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET A WORK PERMIT WITH YOUR CURRENT DEGREE. MoM obviously considers your degree to be worthless as they are not even willing to allow you to work as a technician. End of story. Like others have said, get a proper pharmacy degree recognized by Singapore if you want to work in Singapore.sam786786 wrote:Hi friends, again I need to clarify certain important things , First of all Singapore pharmacy board does approved qualification only from 5 country in entire world, all from Europe, sadly no one Asian country in their list, including India, Philippine, Myanmar etc., Again Pharmacist are more demand list in Singapore, and pharmacy technician also in their demand list. Hmm. Sorry to hear about that. You certainly sound like it is your right to be given employment in Singapore, so allow me to stress that point again.sam786786 wrote:Hi friends, again I need to clarify certain important things , First of all Singapore pharmacy board does approved qualification only from 5 country in entire world, all from Europe, sadly no one Asian country in their list, including India, Philippine, Myanmar etc., Again Pharmacist are more demand list in Singapore, and pharmacy technician also in their demand list. Your company either has exceed its quota of foreign employers, or you're just not good enough in the eyes of MOM. Either find another company, get a better degree or find another country that is easier to enter for work. Singapore is well-known to be difficult on foreign employment pass these days. You have to be either super good (or highly niched), or super cheap (think construction workers or technicians).
