short term internet contract

Post by pago5462 » Tue, 01 Sep 2015 6:50 am

Hi guys

I'm moving to Singapore for 3 months in a couple of weeks for work. The apartment i'm being put up in doesn't have internet apparently. Looking at a previous thread on here, all of the broadband options seemed to be for 24 month contracts. Obviously i don't want that as i am only going to be in Singapore for 3 months.

Do you know if there are any short term contracts available or other options that would suit me? I don't imagine i will be downloading films or anything like that but i would be wanting internet access (using laptop/ipad/phone).

If anyone can suggest something that would suit then that would be useful.

Thanks

Depends if the property has a fibre optic point installed or not (which is around $200 IIRC).
If it does, MyRepublic and ViewQwest both offer monthly contracts.

If your usage is less than 12Gb per month, I believe M1 has a month-to-month data plan with Dongle. You could sign up for that and get a wifi dongle at Challenger to use it with your ipad etc. There might be similar options with other cell phone providers.

Thanks curiousgeorge. The building is quite new so I'd expect it probably will have in which case it will make life easier.

The other option should also be alright so at least I know I have a couple of possibilities.
