My husband has been offered a position in Singapore. His office is on the Ayer Rajah road. My son who is in high school will be attending SAS. What are good places to live that will be a convenient commute for both of them? We are looking for something in the ~6K range. We will have one car though would prefer to use public transportation as much as possible. Looking for a 3-4 bedroom.
I like the coastal living of the east coast and ECP but staying in the east may not work for my son going to SAS.

Do you mean the AYE (Expressway)? If so, that's pretty long so it would be beneficial if you can narrow the location a little more. SAS and AYE are close to the extreme north and south of the island so not easy to find somewhere convenient to both. Without knowing more, I'd suggest perhaps something in Bukit Panjang area if it needs to be somewhere in the middle.

I think OP meant that the office would be at North Buona Vista area. Ayer Rajah Avenue or Crescent to be exact (near Fusionopolis).
Sorry OP, Ayer Rajah and SAS are on opposite ends of Singapore. This is where you have to choose whether it would be your husband or son to go without private car. If you want middle point, probably Bishan (where you have both Circle line and North South line respectively.)
Does SAS offer school bus service?

I wasn't sure, as he/she did say "the west". I do agree though - I think the car will probably need to be dedicated either to work or school, unless they get lucky with with public transport routes + SAS school bus.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I meant the office is on Ayer Rajah Crescent. My husband who is now in singapore plans to stop by SAS and get the bus routes. He has also informed me that there is a good likelihood of his office moving to Jackson Square, Toa Payoh. I think that may be at least better. Thoughts? Family isn't moving till Jan. so I hope we will be able to figure it all out.
