There are 100s of people who apply and there is no way I will get picked. All my interviews and job offers have always been when a recruiter picked my CV from monster.

I am seriously contemplating something like a semi retirement. I am bugged up with working. I need to go find that post by JR8 where he tells how much you need to have saved for retiring. I am only 35 so can't retire. But I have saved enough that I can just leave that corpus untouched until 55 when I will retire fully. But I want to semi retire now, I.e earn enough to just sustain.

If you can put up with that, you can do the mind-numbing tasks that suck out people's souls the job posting is for.
Mindless drone? When can you start?
Critical thinkers, creative types and people with initiative need not apply.*
* If the stupid system even bothers to send you a notification when the company updates the post with "position closed" after 8 months instead of you checking everyday but on day 90, it insists you change the password wherein you can't use the previous five passwords, minimum of 20 characters, must be alphanumeric characters only, and you can't just change 1-5 characters in your current password
