tell me about it I was once in Dallas during the American Summer... was quite unbearably hot.
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late

I once spent a stop-over in Houston during the summer, so hot and humid it was more barmy than balmy.

As a teen I worked on a dairy farm. I think you are probably referring to these?

Nope. In some European countries it's almost like an annual national exercise. Mostly Central-Eastern Europe I believe but also including countries like Sweden and Germany.

This one:

I even managed to buy it once from Jasons market (damn expensive but no wonder, it's a wild mushroom) but the variety is much bigger, ca 10-15 species (for a middle skilled amateur):

Mmmmm.....mushrooms.....
In 2013, Joel is a single father living near Austin, Texas, with his twelve-year-old daughter Sarah. One night, an outbreak of a mutant Cordyceps fungus ravages the United States, transforming its human hosts into cannibalistic monsters.

Yes, Cordyceps fungi:

But dying from a total liver failure especially from this guy:

is still more popular. You eat one of these and you need a liver transplant.

I've picked a few of these Psilocybin mushrooms down by the Mexican border in my younger days.

After considering carefully I may still chose the liver transplant.
