Nope. In some European countries it's almost like an annual national exercise. Mostly Central-Eastern Europe I believe but also including countries like Sweden and Germany.
This one:
I even managed to buy it once from Jasons market (damn expensive but no wonder, it's a wild mushroom) but the variety is much bigger, ca 10-15 species (for a middle skilled amateur):

Yes, Cordyceps fungi:
But dying from a total liver failure especially from this guy:
is still more popular. You eat one of these and you need a liver transplant.
