Has anyone got good results with advertising online?
I'm about to try online marketing for my business, but agengies I've contacted asking too much. Is that really worthy? What is the reasonable price for monthly managment?

Buy a book called, "The Four Hour Work Week". Don't know if you can actually get to a four hour work week but there is lots of good advice about how to market online.

We started out with an agency but then decided to manage it ourselves but it all depends what stage you are at. Do you know your audience? Do you have an idea of a campaign and you just need help to reach the audience? Do you want to drive traffic to your website or into a physical store? If you want to drive traffic to a website then advertising becomes easier to measure. If it's a pure virtual campaign then the key is about measurement of your flow and knowing how much you are willing to pay for a conversion. Make sure you use google analytics or quantcast measure to track your traffic and track

Yes, that's great book! I've read it several years ago, though still can't imagine to make it 4 hours per week but got some ideas. The key problem for me is finding the right people whom I can delegate.

Thanks for advices! I am almost at the beginning with online tools to advertise. I would like someone to set it up properly and maybe show me how to manage it. The key issue is that agencies provide 6-12 month contract and I am not sure that would work for me for such long period. I'd prefer some specialist who can just make it and then spend some hours per month to maintain it.
I need traffic coming directly to the website, so yes that would be easy to measure.

Are you referring to Google SEO marketing services? I know a good vendor who is currently doing my company. They are charging me around S$800/month.

Why pay money to SEO companies when you can do it yourself for free and achieve good results on your own?

I have achieved Google First Page Ranking for major keywords search terms using a free Wordpress theme on a one page website and dirt cheap webhosting within 2 months of creating it. Too bad I cannot provide you with the proof in here in the form of a link to the website as that will constitute self-advertising and getting myself a ban from the forum. You just got to take my word for it

MrD.... if you or your friends/family have no financial interest, ie, profiting, from your SEO techniques, you are welcome to post the link and any additional information that may be of use to forum members. Should the moderators determine that all or part of your posts are verboten on this forum, we'll modfy accordingly.
And, I tend to agree with you about doing it yourself. Setup accounts with Google, Bing, and Yahoo for stats measurement. Read all about Google's rules, then start doing some page mods.
