hello everyone,
I was reading through the forum and hoping to get some insights from you fine folk. I'm singaporean but have lived and worked in Australia for the last 16 years and have never worked in Singapore. My query is regarding the LTVP process for my husband who is Australian but born in Vietnam.
Can I apply for a LTVP pass for him without being able to provide payslips or cpf contributions from singapore? I am currently looking for a job >10,000 a month in Singapore. We currently have ample savings and two properties in Australia - can we use that to verify that we will be financially ok?
Additionally, will he be unable to work or apply for jobs until he gets an LTVP?
I'm concerned that we won't be able to move back home because he may not get a pass and I dont want to uproot my two dogs and risk having them being quarantined if we have to move back to Australia in the event he doesn't get a pass.
Can anyone advise what is the best course of action - can he be sponsored by other members in my family who are still in Singapore?
Also he's a tradesmen in Australia and doesn't have a degree - it is common in australia not to have one so i'm not sure if that makes it even worse?
Appreciate any advise you can provide.

I believe LTVP can only be granted when the applicant is already in Singapore. Correct me if I am wrong here.
But he can apply for jobs in Singapore without any type of pass or residency. It will be the employer that will apply a pass for him. But as a tradesman, I am not sure of his chances. Tradesmen (plumber, electrician, mason etc) here are locals/PR or work permit holders.
It may be that your course of action is get hired in Singapore first and use your current salary info to apply LTVP for your husband. If you were not yet married I could recommend the ICA PMLA (pre-marriage LTVP eligibility assessment) but it looks like there is no equivalent for those already married.

The online Ltvp system needs a white card number to proceed.
Manual submission doesn't ...

Thanks at bro75 and ecureilx for the quick response - really appreciate it!!
I am trying to call the ICA to get more information but getting an available consultant on the phone appears to be a bit of a challenge - hopefully my dad can show up in person and get more information.
I was wondering if the fact that he is a tradesperson and doesn't have a BA will work against him in the application process? He is however a skilled tradesperson so i'm hoping that will count for something... Half wish I could loan him my Masters

I see the problem there.
ICA doesn't have consultants but they have specialists
Regarding his degree, as a husband he has gained a new title ... which will work in his favour, that's my 2 cents ...

A reverse if this ??
Marriage is an institution in which the man loses his Bachelor's degree and the woman gets her Master's.
