I just divorced the ex-wife of my home country on the last two weeks. Now, I am going to get marriage with my new wife next week in my home country. Can I update my marital status to MoM in one time? Like change the status of married with my ex-wife to my new wife. Will this marital change affect the qualification of my employment pass? Because I am thinking that if the MOM will consider me as a bad guy and cancel my employment pass. My employment pass is valid for more than one and half year.
Besides that, my new wife got pregnant and my boy is expected to be born next month. I will apply the dependant pass for my new wife and my boy. If my marriage record will affect the decision of issuing DPs from MoM, because I divorced and remarry within one month. Will MoM consider this abnormal. In fact, I have been separated from my ex-wife for almost one year and just didn't officially divorce. I just want to work here and live with my new family.
Than you so much.

Re: Change marital status of my employment pass
Nothing like puttin' the cart a'fore the pony, is it. Kinda speeds things up a bit and makes one feel all the speed bumps amplified in the process don't it. Was you former wife here on a DP? or was she still in your home country? If she's never been on a DP, I don't see any real problem. Did you put her particulars on the EP application? In any case, change both at the same time. Isn't going to make any more difference to the ICA officers than having a baby born a week after marriage. They are going to know what kind of guy you are if you were fooling around on your ex, and knocked up another one. before getting divorced. In fact, I reckon you wouldn't be getting married this time if it weren't for the bun about to pop out of the oven? I'm not judging, mind you. Just sayin' I reckon they've seen all kinds here. What's different in your case is both are from the home country and not one from here.

Re: Change marital status of my employment pass
Both my ex-wife and Fiancee are in my home country. My ex-wife has never been in Singapore. My new wife is also in my home country. So, would this will be a problem?
Because I have be separated from my wife for a long while and we negotiate to divorce. So, this won't be a criminal in my home country.
You think that will be a problem if I change my marital status from my ex-wife to new wife and submit the application of dependent pass for my wife and new born child?
I just really want to be a good man with my new family.
Could you give me some suggestion on it? It will be appreciated.
Thank you so much.

Re: Change marital status of my employment pass
I mean every matter regarding my marriage has been resolved in my home country. Both ex- and new wife didn't apply dependent pass or Long-term pass before. Even, the order of these matters are not normal. But, there is nothing guilty in my case. I just wonder if the MoM will have argument on my case that change the martial status from my ex- to new wife and apply dependent passes for my new wife and boy, simultaneously.
By the way, if I change my marital status before the application of dependent pass, will this be better?
I am kindly ask any suggestion on the above. Thank you so much for everyone.

So... your ex wife was never in Singapore. She didn't have a DP. I don't see that there will be an issue with new wife and son.
