Import & Export Business

Post by buyerszone » Mon, 20 Jul 2015 11:47 am

Hi all,

I'm interested in starting an import and export business. I have a few products of which I have shortlisted, however I am open to further suggestions. Also, I have a few questions of which I hope can be assisted with.

1) What are a few recommended products to import from and export to

2) is it possible for me to start this trade from home first? I would like to reduce cost during the initial stages of the business

3) which overseas markets would be recommend?

4) recommended capital?

Looking forward to your assistance

Thanks

Whichever ones you determine have the greatest likelihood of success.

Sure... just don't violate your TA or HDB rules.

Overseas from where?
4) recommended capital?
As much as you can scare up.
Looking forward to your assistance

Thanks

Hi! Thanks for your reply! I have decided to do exports of electronics and life style gadgets. Any suggestion on how to go about sourcing for customers in foreign market?

Exactly!

Mate, do you have any idea what you are doing? Export WHAT, FROM where TO where? Wholesale or retail? Odd lot or palette shipments? You really need to read a book about the import/export business because it is pretty clear you have absolutely no idea how the business works.

I was thinking of exporting mobile phones, cameras, accessories probably from either Singapore/China. I'm not too sure about the end destination yet as I'm in the midst of finding customers. Both Odd lot or palette shipments. Having a book to read about this would be a bonus. Any to recommend?

You do know Singapore is far from China, right ?

And Singapore is a net importer of most electronic finished goods.

You can start reading the book Lord of the ring .. to understand how international commerce works...
