Re: Moving to Singapore, will need furniture
I'm in the middle of planning a renovation and have a few links for home-making suppliers. Try a few of these. Something for all budgets and tastes.

Finally, if you want to view a lot of furniture options in a small location, visit the following places:
The Furniture Mall (10 Toh Guan Road) (mostly low to mid-range stuff)
Park Mall, Orchard Boulevard. (Mostly mid-high end stuff)

Re: Moving to Singapore, will need furniture
We are looking for quality furniture. Now living in a Serviced Apartment. About to sign a lease for an apartment. Checked out a few places - SPACE, Crate & Barrel etc last weekend. SPACE is extremely expensive to us, although they have a good selection. My wife and I like the price points in Crate & Barrel - about $3,000-$5,000 for a living room settee. But their style is rather "modern country" if there is such a term. We are looking for something less "country" and more "city" chic sort of furniture, without paying too much. Any suggestion?
Re: Moving to Singapore, will need furniture
We moved here very recently and still staying now in a Serviced Apartment. Went to Crate & Barrel - quite a bit better in terms of quality compared to Ikea. I think their style (at least those pieces we saw in Singapore) tends to be "modern country". It is good value if that is your preference. But would be a waste if you had to dispose of them just after two years.

Re: Moving to Singapore, will need furniture
Hi there. My husband and i just moved here too and I have been spending some time looking at furniture.. So far, the one thing that I enjoy a lot is the variety of artsy, unique, cultural accent items here..... A couple good popular ones:
Just Anthony http://www.justanthony.com/ and
FairPrice Antique http://fairpriceantique.com/, etc to spruce up my home decor..
I like to mix vintage and modern together... A good home design always carry a balance between the two. A home should not look too old and too much from the past... My decor sense anyways... And my experience from some dinner parties here.. Anyhow.. I discovered a few shops that could combine these elements well. You might wanna check them out... I love stuff from:
Finn Avenue http://www.finnavenue.com/collections/squarely-grid ,
Marquis http://www.marquis.com.sg/ProductDetail ... &slider1=4,
Minotti http://www.minotti.com/#/sofas/allen_en_0_2_4407.html
I enjoy Ikea too... more for its little useful organizers.. the quality is well... Ikea. Crate and Barrel is something like the higher-end of Ikea. Functional but a little too plain for me.
Enjoy your furniture shopping! I have a larger list here if anyone is interested.

Hi carismomuk, it takes time to find everything you want. I'm finally almost there but still working on filling up the home. However, it gets way easier once you are here. Do bring your basic essentials - it takes a a couple of days to get yourself oriented... So.. Basic skincare, shampoo, make-up and some cool clothing like summer dresses, shorts and of course, flip flops or slippers! It is hot here! And sun lotion! For me, most important thing, a bed! Everything else can wait. If you have children, your considerations would be greater. For furniture, some shops do immediate delivery while others a 4-6 weeks wait, maybe longer. Make sure you ask that first. Ikea would be my back-up plan if i could not find anything better. Try shopping around first... I listed a couple of my favorites in another post. I bought my sofa, coffee table and mirrors from Finn Avenue http://www.finnavenue.com/collections/squarely-grid or should i say, almost the whole look. It was delivered to me the next day. Great service and you can buy online or at its gallery. I popped by Just Anthony http://www.justanthony.com/ a few days ago and bought a cabinet. It will be delivered to me early next week. It is really quite easy. The tough part is making the right design choice really. I would hate to have rushed and bought something out of fret. I'm picky though. And oh yes, bring a set of your favorite bedding!

Taylor B at Tanjung Pagar is worth checking out for a step-up above IKEA and cheaper than Crate & Barrel.
Re: Moving to Singapore, will need furniture
Thanks "the lynx" - we checked out Taylor B; it is massive and offers quite a wide selection. We bought some dining chairs; superb. "mella" also gave a good tip - we visited www.finnavenue.com online and then went to their showroom - somewhere north Singapore; 15-20 minutes in a cab. It was quite a hidden gem. We bought our sofa, finally, plus a gorgeous mirror.

There are sales every quarter, the value of which are deflated because sale means adding higher original price stickers.ts77fox wrote:Does any one know of furniture sale right now in Singapore? Do they have Thanksgiving sort of sale here?

IKEA has always been my top choice because of its pricing and simplicity.
I highly recommend craiglists and carousell app too to pick up some bargains!
