Hi Lucy.
There are a few gatherings groups on the site and the group as a whole meets up occasionally (I have only been once). What I did when I got here was join a rugby club and that creates a situation where there are a lot of people and you mingle to find who you like.
I also dragon boat which is a great sport for all people (not many women play rugby) and touch football.
I suggest you tell us your interests and someone will know of a club that suits you :-)

P.S. I loved you in Charlies Angles and Kill Bill.

And State of Origin is on Wednesday night. Most places in Boat Quay will be showing the game so that is also a good place to meet lots of people (admittedly mostly Australian) and to watch QUEENSLAND smash the cockroaches :-P

Hi The Ref,

Thanks for the suggestions. Joining rugby club is a great idea as I'm an Australian, lived in New Zealand for a few years before. We love rugby. Is that possible I can join rugby club even though I do not play rugby? But I enjoy watching rugby. Used to follow rugby 7. I might go to Boat Quay to watch State of Origin on Wednesday. I support NSW BTW. [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES] Guess you are from Queensland?
P.S. I liked your sense of humour. [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

Lucy

Anyone knows what "valid post ID" means? I can not read some posts as I do not have a valid post ID. Thanks.

Not hard to tell I am a Queenslander - obviously by my wit, intelligence and charm. Anyway, so as to not hijack the thread the rugby clubs do accept social members although they normally get an introduction as from an outsiders perspective they can be a bit tricky especially if you are not a player (in the rugby sense). Dragon boating is the same but probably easier to just rock up and join in the sport.

The 2 most "expat" rugby clubs are Wanderers and Bucks. Both have club houses on boat quay (there is SCC but in every town around the world there is 1 club that everyone loves to hate ;-) )

If you want actual details of times, places and personal recommendations I am not willing to post online then feel free to PM me.
