The controversial dog meat festival

Post by menudown » Fri, 26 Jun 2015 11:30 am

Global outrage is having no effect on revellers at China’s notorious Yulin festival
where as many as 10,000 dogs are being skinned alive, butchered and eaten.

It's also messed up that pets are being stolen and eaten :(

When did the opinion of people outside of China ever sway the Chinese?

I may not be against the practice of eating dogs if its their tradition or part of their culture. Like in some other countries e.g Thailand where they use to eat those animals that we rather not eat... but it's more to do with them being tortured and skinned alive..now the line crossing is treating the animals horribly or ending up eating someone's pets

If you have seen how chicken are bred you may give up on KFC and all... chicken are kept in small cages so they walk less and accumulate more fat

My gripe is about pets being stolen ... whatever the pet is, maybe a pet chicken or pet fish or pet snake or pet pig.. eating somebody else's pet is inhuman ... especially if the pet belonged to a kid. ...

while I'm not against the eating of dogs or cats, its the inhumane treatment meted out to these animals, this unnecessary cruelty is what I can't understand like boiling dogs alive, skinning them alive, torching them to death. That's not humanity.
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late
