I've been offered a post in Singapore, but it seems to be on local terms approx S$100,000.00 pa and a condition that I get Singapore residency. My wife will have to give up a good position in HK teaching for a lower post in Singapore approx S$62,000 pa. (Combined household salary in Sing will be about 37% less than that in HK)
1) Is this loss more than offset by the cheaper living costs in Sing compared to HK, for a comparable life style? (Take into consideration for a 200 sq m house with garden say 25mins from CBD, at most three nights out a week, tax etc..)
2) What are the pro and cons in taking up Sing residency, compared to remaining on expat status? (i.e. tax liability, medical, etc..)
