Re-entry to Singapore with unpaid phone bill (M1)
Hi
I left Singapore in 2012 to look after a family matter in India. It wasn't planned that I would leave suddenly. I had to leave due to an illness in the family.
I had a 2 yr contract with m1 of which more than one year was remaining. I would suspect the total amount of penalty to be around 1200 sgd. I continued to make monthly payments for a few months but then I was financially stressed so I couldn't continue. I finally checked online 5 months later and found my number was not in operation so I could not check overdue amount or pay online. This was in 2013. I left no overseas address with m1 or contact number.
I'm planning to visit Singapore again this year and I'm wondering if my overdue bill could have led to court summons which I obviously did not attend and if that might have led to pending arrest warrant or legal action. Will I have trouble entering Singapore again for a holiday on tourist visa?

Yes of course. They either won't let you in, or, they'll take you from immigration to jail.
Settle your debts before you consider visiting.

I am not so sure it might lead u for legal action. Some of my frds hav come across with this issue with Singtel. He went back to his country of origin before he finished his contract. But now he is in singapore working new job without paying anything to Singtel. But now his name was in black list under Singtel. So he using M1 now. Don't worry. Just try yr luck

A person who can afford a holiday in Singapore, but no means/ways to settle the bills with M1. Wish I could inform ICA+M1 about these kind of cheaters. Such low souls and without any shame.

If you can afford a holiday why can't you settle your bills first? It's people like you who give Indians a bad name.
You should be ashamed of yourself !

ideally you should reach out to M1 through email/phone and try to get your outstanding amount cleared.

have you tried contacting the operators customer service? if you wanted to pay back the rest of the money that's where you should be heading...
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late

I am sure the Credit Bureau is working on including EP and Passport holders, in to their Database, so that those non-SC/non-PR can be taken care of properly
At least those run aways are doign the country a favour by reinforcing the impression of unscrupulous FT requiring closer monitoring ..

Douchebag, oh, sorry, MayDay5, have you bothered to read the thread? Just three posts above yours? With each passing day you convince more and more regulars that you are an imbecile. I was convinced on your first day.

This is one of the classic lines that I miss.....Dont you need a visa to enter singapore as an indian national? This looks weird as if you need a visa you will be denied in your own country without the need to worry.

OP - don't worry - you won't have a problem. The regulars just like to frighten people (unless you have had a judgement and bankruptcy action taken in the local courts a debt won't be an immigration issue - to be declared bankrupt there is a claim barrier of S$10,000).
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or
http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Hmm, but one should return money he owes..
Once it's done everyone will be happy, and he will have peace of mind visiting SG.
