Hi guys, as a Singapore citizen myself already, I'm looking into applying for PR for the hubs, who's Australian. It's looking a little tricky at the moment because of our situation, so if someone can shed some light here, that'd be great.
I moved to Australia after getting married 3 years ago and have been in OZ ever since. Husband has been offered a job in Singapore 6 months ago and is now in SG on an S Pass. We've just hit the 3 year mark in our marriage which makes us eligible for me to apply for PR (or LTVP+) for him on the basis that I'm a Singapore citizen. But I looked through the documentation for the application and it says I've got to show my IRAS statements for the past 3 years, which would obviously be $0 since I've been working in OZ.
Will this affect my application? Or will it be alright if I show my Australian tax statements? Will immigration look upon my application unfavourably because I'm not even in Singapore?
Thanks in advance!

Permanent Residency - Overseas scenario
Re: Permanent Residency - Overseas scenario
ICA only cares about IRAS tax statements.

Interesting. I'm curious to know about this too. I'd guess regulars like Saint would be able to shed light on this because he is in the same shoes.
Re: Permanent Residency - Overseas scenario
Yes, interesting question. I would think ICA wanted to show them a proof that in case the spouse finds no job the SGC was able to support the family financially. In that spirit the AU tax assessment should be fine, but this does not mean it is the only factor, i.e. is it desirable from the ICA perspective the LTVP holder lives alone in SG while his spouse resides overseas.
Re: Permanent Residency - Overseas scenario
It does look odd that husband and wife are on different lands at the point of application. Can we explain to immigration that when the husband has more employment opportunities as a PR, the wife will join him?
