what an awful tragedy for him.
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late

for him...he avoid the main road and chose the pavement which should be the safe path
but still, accidents can happen anywhere - anyhow :(

Its a shame , but maybe if he had been following the law and not riding on the road he would have been OK.

It looks to me like the guy on bike would have been unsighted by the wall, or he wasnt even looking , probably going 20-30km/hr without a care in the world.

These are going to happen more and more as folk are going too fast for them to react quickly enough.

A few more incidents like this with various forms of transport being used in the wrong places leading to fatalities and I'd expect to see some new legislation coming in to control it.

With electric 'scooters/skateboards', bicycles, Segways, the occasional moped (full size with petrol-driven engines) and even the curious motorised 'ski-boots' I saw yesterday, all being used on the pavement and all presuming the right of way over pedestrians, it currently feels like taking a simple walk is becoming a bit hazardous.

Funny you mention this , a guy took a shortcut on the pavement today on a proper motorbike , It was probably a 400/500m detour to get to the road he wanted , so he came off the road at a zebra crossing and zipped 50m up the pavement and out onto the road he wanted to go on :o :o :o :o :o

motorised bicycle may be similar to motorbikes it needs a certain stop n go skill especially during emergency brakes. maybe LTA should regulate and register these motorised bicycles coz nowadays there are many riding along the main traffic...should include insurance coverage as well

@Barnsley
This is par for the course in my neighbourhood; to be run off the pavement by a Pizza Hut or McDonald's delivery moped that's taking a short-cut around a one-way system or similar 'inconvenience'.

I don't know how old the video is but with riding skills like that, if they haven't had an accident, it won't be far off.
