Hi there
I have an offer from an MNC in Singapore. I am in the negotiation process with the company. what are the typical relocation costs? few things which come to my mind are - rentals (seems to be very expensive), agent initial 1 month fee, flying expenses...

what about the school fees? given the International Schools fees...do MNC's cover the first semester fees?

any thoughts on how much and what all is provided as relocations costs by MNC's?

thanks

Normally in a very good expat package (subject to your negotiation):
1. Relocation costs are covered - shipping, insurance, duty (if applicable). This is covered two times (once when you commence, and another time when you get repatriated back to home country).
2. First flight to Singapore is covered. Annual flights home are provided.
3. Pet relocation may or may not be covered, depending on the MNC.
4. Housing is provided, either in allowance form or in direct rental via agent on monthly basis. Agent fees and stamp duty is covered in this case.
5. School fees are covered. Daycare centres may or may not be covered.
6. Cars may or may not be covered (due to expensive cost). If it is covered, sometimes petrol, parking and ERP is covered as well.
7. Internet, cable TV and mobile phones are usually covered.

Note that this package is enjoyed only by probably 5% of expats in Singapore.

20% probably gets half/part of it.

The rest of them are on local package with nothing from above.
