Relocating to Singapore

Post by anandshankar841 » Tue, 09 Jun 2015 12:50 am

Hi All,
I will be relocating to Singapore from Germany and will have my working
location at Alexandra Road. I have 2 years old daughter. Please suggest me
some nearby area where I can get a 2 bed room flat and also have some play
school closeby. Also looking to have some shopping malls and supermarket
near by.
Considering all this please suggest some location to look for rental
accommodation. Pointers to some agency will also be helpful.

Regards
Anand

Welcome to Singapore. Best place to stay and near to your working place includes Queenstown, Clementi, Tanglin and Pasir Panjang areas. Please note that first three areas are established areas and requires premium rentals. What is your budget for rental? Do you plan to stay in private condo or HDB flats? Private condos will be very much higher. FYI two things in Singapore are very expensive...housing and car. As to play schools, shopping malls and supermarkets, practically all housing estates have them. Please note that I am not a property agent but I do have a lot of friends who are. {sanitized by moderator} Welcome again to Singapore. God bless. Lawrence NL Tham

Please note that the first time we hear of unsolicited PMs from you to our readers, or you recommending any of your real estate agent friends, you will be history here. Capisce? - Moderator

What is the actual address of your employer in Singapore? Alexandra Road is very long...

Groceries are found pretty commonly (but always good to confirm how far once you narrow down on available apartments) but it's not so common to find any *condos* with 2 bedrooms for <$2500 unless you're willing to commute about 45-60 minutes each way. If so, then areas like Bukit Timah and Bukit Batok have condos in your range.

Increasing budget to $3000 would open up some options in Queenstown to the west, such as Vista Park. Otherwise, also consider HDB apartments.
