We have Kiss 92 on in the office for our sins..
Its hourly news all day has reported that earthquake near Mount Kinabalu has created no serious damage....
They have been reporting on Asiaone website for the past 5 or 6 hrs that 1 person has died and possibly more as a few are still missing on the mountain.
Does this not constitute damage?
Where would Kiss92 get their news from?
I have noticed its often very up to date compared to the internet.
Surely they have some underling surfing the news sites for updates to the news items they have every hour.
Life is short, paddle harder!!

Then sinners ye may be, I cannot imagine having that or any local radio on while working. But I do have the BBC on just about anytime I'm at home. They usually won't have up to date local news though, so there is a gap there.
I got my news about the earthquake elsewhere.

BBC Radio 4 wakes me. Moves to BBC World Service early Sg time.Does give good global coverage with an Asian emphasis once BBC WS cuts in. If I'm working from home I last to the 10am news and then have to turn it off.
Haven't found any local station I can listen to for more than 2 minutes.

On days when I had no other choice, I would tune to local news radio 938Live for the lazy news listening at work but the monotonous dribble often put me to sleep.

I do but can't take that into the shower like my trusty transistor.
So how does one get BBC4?

Yep, sounds rather like what I do, listen to, and think of the local offering.
@Brah, here ->

In UK terms you can think of R4 news as reporting 'of national reference', it's straight down the line. The World Service perhaps even more-so, as it's answerable to a global audience.
