How many feet does it take to reach terminal velocity?
Maybe they should revert back to Westin Stamford.... to rid the bad energymenudown wrote:one after another...is there something wrong with this hotel?
For a human body terminal velocity is about 120 m/h / 200 k/h / 56 m/s. From rest, it would take about 5.7 to 6.5 seconds to reach this velocity depending upon total wind resistance... (v = gt or t = v/g - no wind resistance).sundaymorningstaple wrote:How many feet does it take to reach terminal velocity?
56 m/s, isn't it too much? as far as i know, the space capsule lands at 10 m/s or below - and they have re-entry seats.Strong Eagle wrote:For a human body terminal velocity is about 120 m/h / 200 k/h / 56 m/s. Distance is calculated as d = 0.5 * g * t^2 = 0.5 * 9.8 * (5.7^2 to 6.5^2) = 160 to 207 meters or 525 to 680 feet. So, that person would either need to be up near the 50th story or higher or did not make contact with terra firma at terminal velocity.
Well, there are some picture of the Aussie lady, minus the headsundaymorningstaple wrote:The Australian woman five days ago went off the 60th story so I would guess she was maxed out when she hit. The guy, today, they haven't said yet, or I've missed it.
