You need to make more money. You are a diploma holder but not degreed. After 7 years you only make 4.5K per month... in many roles you should be making 7 or 8 K per month. It's not going to happen in my view.

Did you mean that one's salary has to be directly proportional to the number of years?
:looks at own number of years:

General question. What is the advantage to an employee being on an EP as opposed to other work permits, SPass for example? I realise there are minimum salary bands but does it really equate to more money in hand or are there other benefits?

Some promotional items are only applicable to Singaporean citizens, permanent residents and EP holders only. Membership to some clubs as well.

Additionally, Dependent Visas are available (like say for a spouse) whereby they are not when on S passes.

And a wrong notion that S pass = work permit (maids/workers) and some companies - like Singtel are treating an S pass holder likewisea asking for deposit etc, which EP holders don't have to
And S pass means no CC (I think so ...)

Okay, that's interesting. Seems like having an EP does have some benefit other than financial.
I'm intrigued by the mention of club membership. I guess country clubs and the like, although the financial requirements would keep most away.

Recently I was asked to fill in a survey form, for a group I help out.
The residency had the following categories:
Citizen
PR
Expat
WP/SPass holder
I asked what the meaning of Expat was, and the group admin said that it refers to "EP and PEP Holders"

I'm not saying directly proportional... but I am saying that a salary that is too low for a number of years of experience, particularly when compared to others in a similar industry sends up lots of red flags. And a question that can reasonably be asked is: Why should this person get an EP when they are apparently not performing at a level that would provide them with a salary in line with others?

Yes, I was going to add that one in as well but I figured you would jump in. Crappy employer as in, "we max'ed out our S-Passes, so now we're going to pay just enough to get some sort of EP... and maybe MOM will be suspicious that we aren't actually paying that amount... but what the hell."

What do you mean by management executive role? I am asking seeing SE's response that you should make 7-8k and I have some feeling that you may be actually in a role of an administrative assistant, not a manager. If this is the case, then IMO your salary is fine.
