SBS Transit tweeted at 8.25am: "NEL service towards HarbourFront NE1 is delayed up to 10 minutes."

No, it's the walking with their noses glued to the screen of the smartphones (and because most are myopic, their noses are only about 2.4 cm from the screen). They use smart phones to give the illusion that they are smart.

Visit Ion, and it's like the night of the zombie apocalypse. No one looking where they're walking, all these randomers bouncing off me then wondering/angry how that happened.
Pretty weird experience.
[behave like that in many places abroad, and you're going to foment some serious zap on your ar$e]
Sounds like a mini Taser could be a lot of fun... bzzzzttt!!! as they begin to crunch into you.

lmfao, well I can sympathize with the person who got stuck if he was old or disabled or was in a hurry or something, but not the smart phone zombies
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late

I at times am just looking at my phone...
...but when I do it's either it's not busy or I'm way off to the side to give way to people who are more willing to go faster...
...and since I'm already looking down, I would surely see a chasm and be able to avoid it.

If it was a chasm I could almost understand it , but the game is pretty narrow and unless you twist your foot , I dont see how you are getting it in the gap.

You forget that they are myopic. Add tunnel vision to that and there you go. We all know that in addition to myopia, they tend to display a huge lack of spatial awareness. That's why they ricochet off you when you are walking down the street, as they have their noses stuck inside the phone and are oblivious to all around them.
