Sorry, as mentioned above, "I have again re-set every member to receive email notification by default".

That is because in the past some members turned it off due to the too many notification problem. Since the problem has been solved now, I changed the settings for everyone to default. Each member of cos can turn it off again.
I've got "Notify me upon replies by default:" set to "No" yet I just got a notification that you replied to my earlier message. How can I stop that?

re: The auto-insertion of links, it did something pretty weird earlier on, I'd written 'moving here' perhaps three times in one reply, to a person looking at reloing here, and it changed each to 'Removal companies'[link].

Found the problem and corrected it. Let me know if the error persists.

The previous issue of multiple e-mail notifications seems like it might have started re-occurring.

I.e. I've previously participated in a topic and am following it.
I receive a notification that there is a new post in that topic.
I don't open that link and read the new post at that time
A while later I have 3, 4, 5 such notifications re: new posts in that same topic.

I wonder if anyone else has noticed this. It looks like it might have started happening today.

I have what seems to be a new bug.
I tried to post as a x-reference the URL for a specific topic in this forum, but it both copied and pasted as the generic URL for the forum as a whole. I.e. I then had to explain to the intended reader where to go and look ['Under the relo/Moving sub-topic section'] for it.

Curious, the copy/paste function wasn't doing this yesterday.

You copied the wrong link. Go to the title of the thread and click "copy link" and paste. You can even direct to a specific post by right clicking the little note pad/page at the right of the posters name for that post and clicking "copy link" and then paste it into your post, e.g.

I had 2 windows open in 2 tabs.

Tab a) "I'll post something in another tab, and link it [the URL] back here"
Tab b) 'Blah blah blah'. Tried to copy paste it back....
Tab a) Got the generic paste of the forum link.

Anyway, hopefully he's found it by now...

I just posted a reply in another topic, then realised it would work better in a reply to an 'earlier/above' post in that topic, quoting some of it's content. But I couldn't find a 'delete post' option. It's not something one needs often, but I think something like that used to exist.

Great!
The new site template is much more efficient, I spent hours optimizing it.

Think sometime ago we disable the delete function due to some users go around mass deleting their hundreds of posts and it makes the thread unreadable. Mods, correct me if I am wrong.

A forum post can been deleted (at least up till the current itineration - haven't tried it since the new software was installed) until somebody responds to the post. Once there is a following message, only a moderator can delete the post itself, however, a member is still able to edit the post message (but cannot delete the post itself). This is why we tend to quote the first message of the thread by the OP and subsequent posts by the OP if it smells "suspicious".

Even after somebody makes a following post in the thread, editing is still available (and it will automatically show when it was edited at the bottom of the post) but you cannot delete the post itself. You also cannot delete ALL the message, that is why people write deleted or some other characters in the message body.

Something that seems to have been happening the last day or two. If I get an e-mail notification of a topic in which I'm active, and it reads say like this...
-----
'If you want to view the newest post made since your last visit, click the
following link:
http://forum.singaporeexpats.com/viewto ... ead#unread
If you want to view the topic, click the following link:
http://forum.singaporeexpats.com/viewto ... 5&t=109145 '
-----

If I click the first link it takes me to the first post in the topic, not the most recent one.
