LTVP application for family of PR

Post by Makan_explorer » Mon, 20 Apr 2015 9:10 pm

Dear forum members, I have a few questions I hope some of you could help me with.

I am a Singapore PR, who has been residing outside Singapore for more than a year and a half now, but now in the process of moving back. Last time I lived in Singapore I was single, but I now have a family, two children, whom, together with their mum (my wife), I would like to join me.

I am European and my wife from Thailand. We are both university graduates. We have two boys, who hold dual citizenships.

As for the application procedure, my official address as registered with ICA, is currently overseas and we have yet not found a place to live in Singapore, because we would like to have the LTVP approved first, otherwise I will only stay here myself, and thus only requiring a studio instead of a 3-room. Can I be the sponsor without having an address in Singapore?

Are there any income requirements for an LTVP? I am self-employed, and my taxable income in Singapore has been quite low, as I have not been around running the business the last two years of assessment. My Singapore taxable income was around $65,000 last year and the same for 2014. It will be much higher in 2015, but I guess they will not accept any income estimates so early in the year.

Any comments?

My sincere thanks!

There are no fixed rules regarding income when applying for dependent LTVP but based on anecdotal evidence, if the government feels you cannot support your dependents, then they will not be given an LTVP.
In the LTVP application, the applicant's DE card is also required, so this means they will need to be in Singapore during the application.

For spouse of PR, unless it's a Malaysian, the estimated magic number is about 4,500+ $ basic pay.. I think.

Commission and benefits are never counted.

First of all both applicant + sponsor should produce the travel documents/IC. (Means should be physically in singapore)
Second on the income - shouldnt be a big issue
Finally, LTVP process may take quite long. as long as 6 months for some cases (not based on race as I would expect people to jump on with subcontinent examples :)), and beyond in worst case scenario. So its kind of tricky.

I have a bit of a disagreement there

Pay is a criteria for long term pass
