Anyone else help?
So many people have already given their timelines, both rejected and approved; you just need to learn to use the search function.
OP obviously doesn't want to give his profile which will make any comparison with him useless. It's like me saying, "I won a million dollars but I won't tell you how I did it. Just be assured you can do it too!"
"A quokka is what would happen if there was an anime about kangaroos."

That's all right JR8, the useless douche still doesn't get it. All we can do is look at the relevant data and give our gut feelings on it at any given time. I already told him as much on the thread he hijacked before, after having to badger him to get any data from him. The fact that he's M'sian Chinese was probably to his credit, but his attitude towards people in general they've probably picked up on in their background checks and figured they've already got too many true-blues like that already. But if he waits long enough, who knows, he may actually get it. We already know it's a crap shoot, loaded against some and generally (not always) proactive for another. But as we don't know the inner workings of ICA we still can only give our gut feelings on the issue. He doesn't realize that we don't compare, but just try to get a feel of the current trends. What to do? I had to laugh at yer post though.

Hi all, my wife PR also got approved. So i want to thank the people here whom I posted some queries a while back but i cant find my post anymore. Basically im a sc, and my wife is from China. She is on work permit for 3 yrs in sg and prior that 7 years studying in sg. Our combined salary is abt 5-6k. We got married last yr Sept and applied in Dec. But to me the wait is too long, so I went to find MP to ask if they can facilitate the process in any way, and give my due concern as to unable to get a a bto flat.
Thanks again guys, hope i gave enough information to aid others who are applying too.

Congratulations. But frankly, I'm not sure how much was due to the MP and how much was due to timing. I've not know too many letter from MP that actually helped. But in any case, you are set now and can at least breath a bit easier now. Congratulations again.

My husband is SC , im Malaysia Chinese , I applied my PR on Feb ,now the status still pending , for me the wait is too long , without PR we cant apply BTO flat.
May I know is it useful if I go find MP? After u send MP letter to ICA , how long ICA approved your wife PR?

Evelyn, you should have read the whole thread. You will get it when they are good and ready, or you won't. MP letters are only a feel good exercise, but they, honestly, don't do anything at all except as a sop to the person who wants to appear to be getting help. I've never seen one yet where a decision was made based on a letter from an MP or Mayor or Minister for that matter (unless it was the Minister in charge of ICA itself). Singapore cannot be seen to allow decisions to be made arbitrarily based on a letter from an MP. They have procedures to follow and that is exactly what they will do. full stop.

Differences PTS vs FTS approved PR
Replies: 4
First post
I’m thinking of applying under the PTS/professionals scheme now.
However, in about 3 years I’ll also be eligible to apply under the FTS/family ties...

Also PR becomes much harder to obtain in your 40s. I would apply asap and if you fail then reapply once married for two years.
