Yemen - things are starting to look ugly now

Post by rajagainstthemachine » Tue, 14 Apr 2015 1:01 pm

Surprised to see there is no thread on this topic. Hope it doesn't turn into another Syria-Iraq situation, Iran on one side and Saudis on the other, the middle east has more and more fires to put out.
Kudos to India for evacuating all the affected expats out of the danger zone.

It hadn't even crossed my radar! Presumably this is the current chapter in the Sunni vs Shiite 'death-match'?

So much for being 'the religion of peace'.

I wonder how its all going to end ..... clearly there has been lots of hate throughout history , however now with the proliferation in the media its putting it in the spotlight.

America's are going to sit back and watch the two slug it out, the Saudi's are going to stop bothering about their oil for a bit, the Russian rouble has tanked and Europes nowhere, perfect time for Uncle Sam to kick start the US economy.

From a biblical point of view? The great tribulation and second coming. From the point of view of a none Christian... never... it's the nature of human nature.

The bible was written [300-400AD?], centuries before Islam was conceived in the late 7th century+, never mind subsequently later divided, so...

Let the blinded all kill each other. As long as they keep out of my way whilst doing so I have no problem with that.

Oh, now, I'm somehow a heretic am I?

I had to look heathen up! It's used as a general word, almost affectionate, for someone who can be a bit uncivilised ('Eagles night down the Quays, bunch of right bloody heathens! :)', but I was curious of the word's roots > Wiki...

'Germanic neopaganism,[1] also known as Heathenry or Heathenism, Ásatrú (English: Esetroth or Ostroth), Forn Siðr, and also Odinism and Theodism, is the contemporary revival of the historical Ethnic religion of Germanic paganism.[2] It is centered on the worship of the traditional Germanic deities, and the belief of Germanic neopagans can vary considerably, from strictly historical polytheistic reconstructionism to syncretic, Jungian, esoteric, mystic or Ariosophical interpretations.'

That last sentence... OMG :o , I think I need a double espresso!

p.s. 'Yeah, SMS is a pagan. He went so far as building a 1/10th scale model of Stonehenge in his back garden!'
