NaNa Thai.

Considering that the clientele in Golden Mile are mostly Thai, the restaurants there need to be "authentic."

Welcome to the little red dot.

Are you looking for "good" Thai places?
Try Google "best Thai restaurants in Singapore."
You should get several sites that have compiled lists of top 5 or top 10 Thai restaurants.
Those places that appear on multiple lists might be good choices to start with.

If you're looking for other cuisines, Google can help you with these as well.

Three websites here that have extensive restaurant reviews are:
Hungrygowhere
ieatishootipost
Lady Iron Chef's blog

Other than this can't recommend anything without knowing what you like and what you are looking for.
Suggest you make some friends and try discover new restaurants together to come up with your own lists.

Some clubs also have good food, but won't appear on anyone's list.
With summer approaching, you might be eligible for a trial membership at the American Club, if you think you might have a craving for American food.
Their burgers and pizza are quite nice.

Nana Thai is authentic but slightly pricy . Moo kata is just beside nana Thai . Worth trying. It's satisfying after a good drinking session . 39.90 for a set which consists of pork chicken liver vegetables sausages fish all crabmeat .

Bukit timah Hawker center, Thai stall there makes the best tom yum soup I've ever had, and a great mango/papaya salad.
I order just rice from the chicken rice stall next door and the combo is just amazing.
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late

I heard they have great street foods over there. And they're cheap too.

I'll be more worried about "stuffing my face" and "Thailand" parts of the statement.
