Living forever

This is a serious topic, but its kind of weird so I thought of posting it here.

This is something I have been thinking for sometime now, about what exactly happens after death and my understanding is we go into nothingness just like how we were before we were born. Then I started wondering whether a part of brain can be kept alive even after our death so that atleast we can keep recollecting our memories just like we do when we are dreaming.

However I wonder as well if Quantum physics will show that we could have another mind/s in another plane/universe and that will continue on at some point.
