What are the pros and cons of applying for PR during the general election year 2016?

Pro? None.

Cons? The Government isn't going to give up what will directly cost them votes on election day. And PRs cannot vote so cannot help, only hinder. It will be interesting to see as the Oppositions will hammer on the PAP tooth & nail for giving away jobs to the foreigners. Go luck. Yer gonna need it.

Probably as SMS says. I'm curious to see how many new SC they try to create from now to the GE.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Statistics show that they have added ~30K SCs every year in the past 4 years and the no. of PRs have dropped (to a small extent) in the past two years.

http://www.singstat.gov.sg/docs/default ... sfeb15.pdf

They have been consistent in the numbers, so practically the no. of PRs/SCs given out next year should affect their votes. Why do you think they would curb the numbers next year?
