Post by briandragon » Thu, 26 Feb 2015 3:46 pm

Hello,

I wanna get the PADI Open Water Diver Certification.
There are any recommended scuba centers?

1. Gill Divers (http://www.gilldivers.com/)
2. Deep Blue (http://www.deepbluedive.com/#)
3. ...??

Is Deep Blue the same as Deep Blue Scuba? There's also Orpheus Dive or something...

Just google "PADI Singapore" https://www.google.com.sg/webhp?sourcei ... 0singapore

Anyway, all the dive centers here in Singapore go to the same swimming pool for the pool training. And usually also share the same bus and location for the actual diving trip itself. Prices are almost the same as far as I can see online.

I had my OW and AOW at Gill Divers last year. Although when I was getting my OW, I met a lot of people from Deep Blue as well in the same trip.

Only difference? Just the Instructors and Divemasters I guess.

I've dived with both Orpheus Dive and Friendly Waters. Both had great people and very friendly. I can't comment on the quality of instructors as I've never seen them running a course, but they both had good safety and communication, so I imagine both would deliver good instruction.

What are you looking for in a dive shop? I have dived with Friendly Waters and White Mantas, both liveonboard. White Mantas boat is a lot more luxurious and it comes with a bigger price tag. Friendly Waters is more basic liveonboard.

My husband was thinking of getting his divemasters at Scuba Warehouse as the guy is very friendly and patient.
