Can I sell home cooked meal in singapore?

Post by Dan1977 » Tue, 17 Feb 2015 7:05 pm

Hi Everyone O:)
I recently moved to Singapore. I am currently unemployed while the wifey works. I have always been a passionate cook and was wondering if there is any way I could sell home cooked meal? I do bake custom cakes and also do a lot of savory menu items. I understand a lot of people sell on facebook but I think that needs a big circle of friends who can promote the page. I was hoping for selling every day home cooked meals
Is there any community center/Farmers Market or website where I can sell home cooked meal? Also, is that legal to do that ? or do I need to have certification?

Thanks

what pass do you hold currently? what you are suggesting is illegal and if you get caught you risk deportation.
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late

Adding on, to cook food for sale you need a certificate saying you are disease free, few are tested for .. for a start .. covered in ENV website ..

Yeah friend, I think in Singapore, certification is a real deal, especially when you're dealing with food. And you definitely don't want to risk getting into trouble if there's something wrong with the food [-X

What happened to all the curry puff sellers at the MRT. I only just realised I haven't seen one in years.

I’m pretty sure you need some sort of home-based business license, I suggest you research this thoroughly before you begin selling or you will risk getting a serious fine or penalty from the government. The government is incredibly strict when it comes to food because the risk of contamination or infection is so high.
