PR SC+PRC

Post by lolbbq » Fri, 13 Feb 2015 3:22 pm

Hi all,

Would like to know my chances for applying PR for my spouse to be. We are currently studying in Australia and intend to get married (registered in) Australia. I am doing post-grad and will finish in 2017. She will grad this year.

Our profile respectively
Age : 27 and 24
Highest Qualification : 1st class honors from aus uni and degree from china
Prospective Qualification : Phd(medical science) and Masters (translation) both aus uni
Both of us have no jobs now besides part time stuff and my scholarship allowance.
I have completed full time NS.
Her nationality (PRC)

We intend to settle down in Singapore after getting some australian working experience. I am wondering what our chances are if we applied straight away. She would probably be starting work a couple months after our marriage. The main reason we want to do it asap is so that we can BTO a flat in Singapore. By the time the flat is constructed it would suit our return to Singapore nicely.

Go for LTVP+ for her, see the other thread about the LTVP Pre-check for Singaporeans marrying foreigners:

The LTVP+ will let her stay, and apply for a LOC to even work.

Once you're both in Singapore and making a decent salary for at least a year, I would then apply for PR for her. Going straight to PR seems risky.
