Recommendations for local movers

Post by michellell » Mon, 26 Jan 2015 3:24 pm

Hello, everyone. I relocated to Singapore two years ago and now am looking at moving to another condo in February. I have no clue about local Movers so I'm hoping to get some recommendations here. I also need the Movers to dis-assemble/reassemble furniture. Anyone with good experience/service provider to share? And what would the cost be like? Thanks!

I had a great experience recently with Faith Movers…check out their Facebook page. They helped me move to my new place on the 15th of this month. The guy to talk to is Kelvin…8493 1114….he disassembled and re-assembled my bed in an expert fashion. Nothing was damaged in the move. Very satisfied and happy to recommend him. Cost is dependent on the size of your belongings and the distance from old to new place. I'd hazard a guess rates might start from $300 for a very frugal move to $400-$600 for a mid sized 2 room apartment with not too much stuff. I would advise you not to accept the first quote they give you…they're honest people but some reasonable negotiation will work in your favour. Remember, the lower you pay the less people they will bring. I had only three people doing my move and we had 40 boxes and about 10-15 pieces of furniture, ranging from a tv/rack to a king size bed. You will need to hurry since if you're moving around chinese new year time, you could find that none of them are working. Good luck
