Bachelor thesis on highly skilled Europeans in Singapore

Post by Natalie_de » Wed, 21 Jan 2015 3:56 pm

Dear all,
I am a geography student at the University of Cologne, Germany. At the moment I’m writing my bachelor thesis about the migration of highly skilled Europeans to Singapore. For this I designed an online-survey to analyze the factors behind the migration.

I’m looking for migrants from European countries (continent) only.

We're used to it.

I completed it. But please note:

- Q2 is perhaps not broad enough. It does not allow for people that work here, or whose spouses work here (both legally 'Residents'), who do not have PR/Citizenship. So I ticked 'Non-resident'.
- Q24 Not easy to interpret, I'm assuming 'your company' = 'your spouse'.

Good luck!

Generally one of more meaningful surveys posted in here but some questions are pretty vague, i.e.:

* 25 Q00024 Do you get involved outside your work in Singapore?

I repeat an earlier point that I made re: similar...

If people wish to post surveys, particularly if they are for academic purposes, it might pay to float the questionnaire structure beforehand, before a settled version is published inviting participation. After all, someone thousands of miles say cannot 'scientifically' conceive of all the options that might apply, the subtle nuances, and they might tend to view things via the prism and limitations of their own experience, rather than those of the target audience.

[That said, compared to most we see, I thought it was a generally very considered, and well structured poll].
