It's a bit like that question 'If a tree in a forest falls over, and there's no one there to hear it, does it make a noise?'.
If a celebrity you've never heard of does something, is there reason to notice?
p.s. Can't he at least be an ex-con, trannie, or ex-PAPster gone wild?
Well if you've never heard of him, obviously he doesn't exist. Whether you like him or his music (I don't really...) or not, he probably still has more rabid fans in Asia than exist people in the US and UK combined. Including huge amounts in Singapore, not-withstanding grumpy old curmudgeons commenting in this thread.

Well it was meant in an entirely light-hearted way, but not to worry.

Regardless how many local fans he has he still does not exist for me. Why should he? It is not like everybody has to share his cultural/whatever preferences with everybody around. I'm not saying he is bad or mean anything mean but just that people live in some very different worlds even within a single country.

It's just amusing how many people show up solely to post about how they don't know who this person is and he means nothing to them. If some random famous [Insert name of old British fart here] was in a news story and someone posted a link, and then a bunch of locals came out of the wood work to talk about how that person was someone they didn't know and meant nothing to them, what do you think would happen? The same people in this thread right now would be ripping them all apart.

Nah, they'd just remind them that this is an Expat Forum, not SG.com or Stomp.

What is even more amusing is a repetitive failure of some to notice when somebody is serious and when teasing. Besides, you are also wrong on the 2nd part: at least myself, I could not care less (why should I? American, British, Polish, doesn't matter). It has nothing to do with Singapore or any other place. And I really don't know who the hell is Justin Timberlake.

You're old enough not to be a teenager during his peak popularity (and hence, have less chances with girls) but young enough not to have a daughter who can have a crush on him.
That's all you need to know.
Anything more would be opening Pandora's Box.

I make daily adjustment to somehow younger population reality reading a number of meme/picture sites (fortunately I am still immature enough) and he was not there. Not frequently enough to notice at least. There was plenty of another Justin though.

You sound like a passionately besotted fan
--- Selby, mighty curious place for a SGn to end up. I wonder how long he'll stick that out. Perhaps he'll do a cover version of 'In the deep midwinter'.

Bwahaha!
Jay Chou and The Pits. He could do a cover version of 'Working in a coalmine' down at the Bridlington Butlins holiday camp. Fit right in!
