Uhm you also just described Michael Jackson. Except the "heart throb" part.

I think the title was always given because he sold so many records and influence the genre, akin to Michael Jackson. Time or someone called him the Asian King of Pop. I don't think Justin Timberlake was really quite so popular, or influenced his genre.
