Apply PR - Testimonials from previous employer

Post by 2015 » Sat, 10 Jan 2015 11:12 pm

Hi all,

I'm preparing the documents required for apply PR. From the Explanatory notes, I noticed that one of the documents to be produced is the "Testimonials from previous employer stating the nature and duration of employment and also the last drawn basic salary". Anyone know that is it compulsory to submit this testimonials? This is because my previous employer migrated to oversea... currently I can't contact him...

Besides, I also have some other questions:
- Is it need to submit the testimonials from my current employer?
- I need to submit the payslips for the last 6 months, can I know that the copy of payslips need to be signed by my current employer as an approval ?
- My employment pass will be expired in March 2015. I need to give a copy of my pass. So, when processing my PR application, I will renew my pass.. I'm thinking whether I need to give the copy of pass again after renew my pass? Any impact on applying PR if the EP pass near expiry date...

Any suggestions and comments are welcome and appreciated. :)

Thanks.

If you want any hope of actually getting a PR, you will give them everything they asked for and more if you can.

If you cannot find your previous employer, you give them everything about them and you that you know... your dates of employment, your salary, your reason for leaving. Since you know your employer has migrated overseas you tell them everything you know about it... his name where he last migrated to, when your last contact was. By being truthful, you give them the opportunity to track your employer down or take you at your word.

If you have a positive testimonial from your current employer, then submit it. Your pay slips do not have to be signed... normally your pay slips are not signed, and often come by email for some.

If you fail provide all the materials they ask for, your application will simple be rejected as incomplete... it's not like Singapore is welcoming PR's these days.

Hi Strong Eagle,

Thanks for your reply. I will try give my previous employer's information as much as possible in my PR application.

I have one more question which I just added to my post. Do you have any idea on it?

Thanks.

MOM and ICA have interlinked and shared databases. If your EP is approved, ICA will probably know about it but it wouldn't hurt to update them with the information... just to show that you are a conscientious kind of person who keeps things up to date.

If your EP is not approved they will also know that as well, and if MOM won't approve your EP, my money says you won't get PR, either.
