Work Woodlands- where to live?

Post by jcmik » Sun, 16 Jan 2005 12:17 am

I'm relocating from CA to SG, and will work in Woodlands area. I've been to SG before on business so am somewhat familiar with the different areas but not in terms of lifestyle.

Seeking high rise condo with nice view, prefer staying by water, require jogging site (Botanical Garden nice or by water), adult area, walking distance to bookstores/cafe/restaurants/clubs. 1-2 bedrooms in SGD2-3k range. Understand from colleagues that list price is negotiable...any comments?

Also, would like to avoid driving but do have car for transportation to office. Can I live anywhere and take easy transportation to work in Woodlands? If not, how long is commute?

Thanks for advice.

Woodlands is way yonder south and all the amenities you mention are in the Orchard or near Orchard area way down south in the central CBD area. However your budget of 2-3 k for a 1-2 bedrooms is reasonably realistic for older properties in the Orchard or near Orchard area. Ask the admin people on this site for recommendations as they would have the leads in these areas.

The commute is by train if you are not going to get a car and will take anywhere from 45 min upwards depending whether you are doing it peak or off peak
