One of my new year's resolution is to take up boxing for female (even thou I am not the athletic type

)
I have yet to check up the classes or locations available, but any female interested in taking up this sport with me?
Or is there any experienced boxers here to give some advice?

Yes, there are a lot of great places to learn boxing in Singapore. They are all a bit different so you should visit them all and do a trial. You can look for a straight boxing gym or look into one of the many MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) gyms that has opened up in Singapore, all of them will offer some form of boxing as well as some kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and strength and conditioning classes. I would make a list of the top MMA/Boxing gyms and then give them a call and schedule a trial class at each. Try a class, talk to the instructors and students, and go with whatever you feel most comfortable with.

You don't need to be athletic type to enroll in boxing classes. You just need to stay disciplined. boxing is indeed a very good exercise. Your whole body is being utilized in the process. There are a lot of credible boxing gyms in SG but I am not going to name one because it might seem to be a form of an advertisement but you can try looking for it in King George's area. By the way, have you pursued your new year's resolution?

I'd be interested to know how you turned up on "StopForumSpam" 2x in six days between 28/1/2014 and 2/2/2015. You might have something regarding advertising. We'll be keeping a watch just to make sure. Oh, and also the fact that you ARE posting from an IP in the 'peens.

Hey- did you end up finding a good gym for boxing?
I'm still looking. I checked out a few but so far Vanda seemed to be the best one overall.
I don't really need sparring - I just want to do mitts work etc.
Most of the gyms I've checked out were small and dirty. I walked into Legends the other day and I walked straight out. The space was so tiny, people wete piled on top of each other, no aircon andbit smelled of feet. No doubt their trainers are good but I need more than that.
Vanda was nice and clean but the boxing classes were very crowded and there was no real boxing teaching going on. It was more like the type of boxing classes you see at gyms like Fitness First. This said I've only dobe one trial class with these guys and it was on a Sat morning. Maybe it's better at less busy times.
