Bulk-buying beer and wine for Xmas

Post by JR8 » Sat, 13 Dec 2014 4:11 pm

'Christmas is coming, and the goose is getting fat'*; but the wallet is getting thinner too :?

We've discussed buying the subject before, but places open and close, and I was wondering what any current recommendations might be. Previously I'd have looked for home delivery too, but this time that is not an in/out requirement.

This question is spurred by my wife getting a delivery this morning from Coca-Cola of about 10 cases (200+ cans/bottles) of various of their diverse range of products delivered not just door-to-door, but right onto the balcony. So I sat there by the Himalayan scale mountain of beverages and thought... 'If only I could do that with beer!'.

There was a place mentioned (Serangoon Rd?) within a stroll of Mustaffa. I never got to visit and they didn't have a website. There also is/was some home delivery company called (IIRC) Redmart, but when I last checked I would not call them a bulk-discounter or anything of a deal.

So, where might one go to get a deal on say 10 cases of beer? If anywhere... thoughts welcome!

Please do put a penny in the old man's hat
If you haven't got a penny, a ha'penny will do
If you haven't got a ha'penny, then God bless you!'

Are you referring to Chandna Mart (also called Chandra Mart) between Baboo Ln and Desker Rd?

Strong Eagle provided this link back in April for the "Duties on importing alcohol etc" discussion:

You can see their phone number by zooming in.

If you don't have a car, like me...a delivery would be great.

A quick google search shown me this.

http://www.cellarbration.com.sg/

Ciders for $88 per carton (24 bottles), or Tiger beer fo $82 per carton sounds reasonable.

There are others, like the Online alcohol delivery, or Mabuk Monkey...but they don't seem to be like the one that JR8 is looking for.
My thread...The Weekenders If you need my e-mail address, it's in the first post of the thread.

cellarbration looks ok! (WINE list is a little average for Rose)
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Just arrived in Singapore recently.
My friend says I have to wait for Chinese New Year to see some really good offers for beer.
Recently I've seen 24 cans of Tiger for 66$ at NTUC and Giant.
That's (a little) cheaper than usual, but not spectacular.

If you get a good deal for bulk buying, I might be interested in participating.

thanks,

D.

Thanks.

We just had 8 crates of that offered Tiger delivered from NTUC this afternoon for our end of year office "tea" in our parking lot (flatted factory so we usually have a barbie as we don't have to worry about rain.
