Well, no, but something similar. Hopefully with more than what they sell in the stores or else I question the usefulness.

Costco / Tesco in Singapore?
Hah I'm morbidly curious to see typical local shoppers with Costco-sized purchases trying to MRT it home.

You are going to be sadly disappointed. They will, initially, only carrying around 4,000 items whereas the normal NTUC carries 15,000 to 20,000 items in stock. The NTUC Hypermarts carry between 20 & 30K items. There is less variety but the savings will be a minimum of 20% of the unit price as you will be buying in bulk quantities. Good for people like me with large families (7 adults & one 7 year old).

Re: Costco / Tesco in Singapore?
All offices and factories around Tuas received first-batch invitation to sign up for the Warehouse Club. The privileges are marginally better but it only makes sense if you have a family size like Brady Brunch, and you own a MPV to boot.
The only I would look forward to over there is Subway and McDonalds (I know! But they are better than the horrible Ananas Cafe-equivalent turd they call food that they sell around the MRT station).
The pack size for each item stocked is huge, despite the lack of variety. Exactly the Costco/Tesco-size kind.

We used to have a Costco near us when I worked in Manchester , used to be great to go and get your 20kg of washing powder and years supply of shaving gel in one go.
They also did great Pizza/hot dogs / lasagna /Shepherds Pies for next to nothing making lunch cheap also.
When Costco first opened in UK , you either had to be "in the trade" or be a Professionally qualified person, riff-raff off the street were not allowed in.
