PR Approved for a Mexican

Post by Mexikaner » Mon, 08 Dec 2014 2:42 pm

Hola amigos! Just dropping by to share the gd news!

I wanted to share with everyone my particular case, since I don't think any latino* has ever written in this forum about their PR process/experience.
(*not considering latinos born in the US, who basically are US citizens)

Nationality: Mexican
Age: 32 (when applied)
M. Status: Married to a SPR (less than 1 year when applied), (PR application as spouse of a SPR)
Highest level of education: Master of Science, Germany
Years working in Spore: 2 years (when applied), Environmental Engineering
Salary: 3.5k (taxes paid 2013/2014)
Application date: mid-Aug/14
Approval date: 1st Dec/14

Hope it is useful to those with similar profile considering whether or not to apply :D

Congratulations Mexikaner and thanks for the update. Always helpful! :)

Were you approved on the PTS scheme or the Family Ties Scheme. As your case would have been strong in either case, regardless of the low salary as you have a niche that they need as they're not too environmentally conscious here!

I have a colleague who is proudly Mexican (we call her the Chihuahua)...

Her main gripe is how hard it is to travel in this region as a Mexican - endless visas and most of them are single entry only.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Thanks SMS, coolkiwi!

@coolkiwi: my wife has been PR for more than 10 years. Has the same education level as I do, with a degree from NTU. Her salary is slightly higher than mine.
