I've been busy out, around and doing maintenance around the house all afternoon. Just sat down to have a cuppa tea and actually have a look (first since around 12 at the office). Yeah, does look kinda slow, doesn't it.

Yeah ... yesterday was quite crowded though. When it is quiet I always will think if there is something wrong with the server.

This forum always has a lot of readers. But seems like most of them don't post.

Lots start looking at home leaves and also having to deal with children being out of school now. Young ones demand a lot of extra bonding time (if they are pre-pubescent, after that, one is lucky if they will even speak to you!) Nov & Dec always slower, but maybe the forum upgrade has also slowed them down as well, but given a little time they will return instead of just lurking.

Think I am spending too much time online on a Sat now ...
Hope not because of the upgrade cos it is looking better than ever! The fonts and layout are similar to the old one too.

I've switched back and forth over the past week and have to say I'm gravitating to the prosilver. It's different, but looks & feels close. Some things take some unlearning and relearning especially from a mod angle, but after 9 years on the board, it's bound to take some adjustment. There is enough new to make it worth while, but I want my "oops" & "sh*t happens" smilies back!

Click" View more smilies". Those were on page 2, now all into a page.

You ran some of them off with the forum upgrade...
Not everyone is a forum addict and only a little bump like that can kill their interest completely. Seen it before. Prosilver is close enough for me to cope... barely... but I am still resisting coming on because it's frankly not easy...
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or
http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

I can cope... I'm referring to people who have probably thought - "I'm online too much"... and large changes in familiar territory provide the excuse to stop visiting.... hopefully they will find their way back... I do wish the default setitng that causes me to get emails on every post response was an opt-in though - I still can't work out where to turn that off.

Go to "User Control Panel", select the "Board Preferences" tab on top of the menu then click "Edit posting defaults" link on the left of the menu. Select "No" under "Notify me upon replies by default".

I don't think the (up)grade was so bad to loose anyone, if so they're wimps.
I wouldn't be surprised if the latest waves of unwarranted negativity and the necessary responses to that had something to do with it. In my case at least I have cycles of visiting and not visiting which vary widely.
