yep, I know,

I asked, since, if the girl is NOT Catholic, double strike out the catholic churches !! even those priests who may make an exception for the marriage, will say no .. that's from what I Know.

and that limits the options !

I still believe OP is better off setting up his own church-like venue ;)

Got money, can make one.

Or have the wedding out of Singapore

Chijmes used to be a monastery, now events venue. One of the buildings is still architecturally a church.

http://chijmes.com.sg/chijmes-hall/

Seats 300, all of the trappings of a church with none of the Catholic guilt! Heathens rejoice!

Nota-bene: Canonically, one does not "stop being a Catholic." Doctrine says that one only turns away from the church but unless excommunicated, one does not stop being part of the Catholic church and community. There is no register of "people who left the Catholic church" and in most cases a Catholic baptismal certificate suffices as "proof of Catholicism." The only recent excommunication is an Argentinian priest found guilty of pedophilia. And it's the ever-so-popular with Atheists and progressive Pope Francis who excommunicated him.

Ask a Catholic Singaporean if they are a Christian. Odds are that they will say NO, Emphatically NO! We are Catholics. They don't seem to realize that Catholics are Christian as well.

They are the largest group amongst Christians in the world.

I can assume that they dont recognise the Pope as the head of their church then.

Or maybe the Pope isnt the voice of god for all Catholics in he world. :o

even comical that most Christians here are not even aware of the Orthodox church, which is the second largest Christian church in the world ..

I was invited to a Syrian church baptism and when I was browsing the pictures, a colleague asked what religion the priest is from. And when I said Syrian Orthodox, my "Mega Church" colleague was not happy and started off that these sects all are bad for Christianity !!!

Tell me about it ..

The new breed of Christians right now are more in favor of contemporary (and modern) interpretations of scripture, often abandoning the doctrines of the older orders, along with the knowledge that those even exist. What they don't realize is most of them come from Baptist traditions and with individual persons claiming themselves to be called pastor and forming their own churches, they're no better than the old groups of Christianity...and maybe even worse with their focus on doctrine and literal interpretation of the bible but not enough practice--"just believing in Jesus will save you."

From this comes the hypocrites--people who claim they're followers of Christ but are intolerant of other beliefs, social groups and "lifestyles" and willingness to turn a blind eye on others. Their moral code is based solely if something is in the bible or not, not realizing the bible itself is filled with contradictions. This is where we also get people who lack a basic grasp of science.

Thus, what we have now are a bunch of self-righteous pricks who think they're better than most people but are utterly ignorant and fail to hold a rational discussion with other people.

Not to mention, much of the 'new music' is pretty awful.

It was never supposed to be a pop concert with rock star leaders.

Saw a video clip of some such star leader from one of those local megachurches, it just reeked of opulence and was kinda scary in a Truman Show way.
